Christmas time in United Kingdom in a lots of elements don’t differ in context with another lands. In UK Nativity Plays or services of carols are practice too. Residents of UK at Christmas Eve eat Christmas dinner, although typical meal is different in comparison to another countries. But the interesting fact can be carols by Candlelight Service in which all church is lit up only by candelas. In the United Kindom many people go to the church where take place church service at 12 a.m. after Christmas Eve.

Time of looking forward to Santa

In United Kingdom childrens also wait for Santa. At the end of the December 24th kids prepare stockings or pillowcases by the fireplace or children’s beds. They know that Santa Claus put on gifts in those items, not near to Christmas tree like think kids from many countries. Often kids in UK are very grateful – they prepare mince pies or brandy for Santa Claus as a food and to drink when he come to their home. Currently it’s often non-alcoholic drink because of Santa has to drive his sleigh.

The Speech of the Queen

Every year, at second day of Christmas Britishers watch Speech of the Queen. The idea of a Christmas speech has its beginning long time before current Queen took the throne. The Speech of the Queen was important element in the development of the BBC on beginning of activity. The first speech was in 1932 and it was given by King George V. Queen in her messages tells about important things of United Kingdom or global and says about her reflexions. It’s great resume of events of the year and plans for the future. The Queen’s Christmas Message is key element of every Christmas.

Every countries have own Holidays traditions. The UK isn’t the exception in that topic, although many Christmas customs are the same.
